Problem with OptimizePro not functioning correctly

Send to friendSend to friend

I have recently installed the OptimizePro add on with Vissim 8, and am having difficulty getting it to function correctly. I am tryig to get an unknownParameter variable to iterate within certain bounds. From a separate post below, I understood that the limits in this block are disabled unless you have the Optimize Pro add on... so we now have purchased this. However, the limits still don't work.

My licence manager says I have Optimize Pro enabled. If I load up one of the example models such as 2segmentSinApprox.vsm and alter the limits on the unknownParmater blocks, then the limits seem to have no effect. Even if on Optimisation Setup I select User Method and ensure the perform optimisation box is ticked, the limits don't work.

I have noticed that under Edit > Preferences > Add-ons there is not a .dll file that says OptimizePro or similar. Could it be that it has not installed correctly, or am I doing something completely wrong ?

Advice would be appreciated. When I installed Vissim initially I emailed the support team and was told that as OptimizePro was enabled it should be working. Maybe there is some setting or installation procedure that I have missed. Thanks.

problem solved

Thanks. I have managed to solve the problem. Optimize pro had installed incorrectly, and the Add-on .dll file hadn't appeard in the Add on list in Vissim. Once added and rebooted, the problem was fixed. Maybe a Vista issue. The bounds work now.

Please send us a sample diagram showing your problem. Optimize Pro stays within the user entered limits for each parameterUnknown in our testing.
