FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VisSim™ Product Line Wins GSA Approval.
Westford, Massachusetts, January 7, 2009 -
Visual Solutions Incorporated (VSI) announces the immediate availability of
the VisSim Version 7.0 product line for GSA purchase. To access VisSim
products, simply visit
www.gsaadvantage.gov and type "VisSim" into the search window. GSA
discounted pricing is available to all government agency employees. Government
employees may order directly from the
www.gsaadvantage.gov site using a government credit card.
VisSim products available for GSA purchase include the base dynamic simulator VisSim, physical layer RF Data Communications simulator, fixed point block set, real-time analog and digital I/O interface, OPC interface, CAN interface, frequency domain analysis, embedded code generator, Texas Instruments MSP430, LF240x, F2812, F280x, F282x, F283x target support, QNX target support, Neural Networks, Nonlinear global optimization, and the Electric motor control block set.
VisSim Version 7.0 adds a 3D plot engine, 3D Animation engine, and VRML
reader, new matrix block operations, VisSim Matrix Language, a new set of
random distributions along with an improved simulation engine, and enhanced
user interface. The new 3D plot block supports interactive 3D plotting of a
single trajectory, surface motion, or waterfall frequency displays. The 3D
animation engine is built on the Microsoft DirectX core. It supports VisSim
driven animated scenes. The user can manipulate the view location and angle
via mouse actions. The VRML block allows selection of objects within the VRML
scene for VisSim control. Standard DirectX ".x" files can be imported as
meshes to be displayed and manipulated in the 3D Animation block.
The new random distribution blocks include: beta, cauchy, erlang, gamma,
pareto, rayleigh, triangular, and weibull. These distributions are useful in
modeling commonly found system behavior and failure rates.
The VisSim Matrix Language supports text based processing of matrix
expressions including: cos, diag, eye, exp, inv, log, log10, min, max,
ones, rand, sqrt, sum, sin, reshape, zeros
as well as standard arithmetic operations.
The new timeStamp block produces a user formatted text string of the current
date and time. The export and import blocks have been improved to create and
read .csv file format and accept macro expansion in the file name, which can
automatically create unique file names on each run of a diagram execution. The
export block allows larger header text, allows a date/time stamp per row, and
gives an option for data column alignment. The import block now understands
hex number format. V7.0 brings an improved and updated user interface with
updated more legible toolbar icons and additional menu shortcuts, as well as a
new option to allow custom colors on compound blocks.
Edit preference options allow automatic reload of the last edited diagram, and
setting of an autosave interval. The VisSim Diagram Explorer Window view into
the VisSim menu hierarchy is now preserved across file opens. This makes it
convenient to insert blocks from deeply nested menu trees.
Trial versions of the VisSim 7.0 software, tutorials and marketing information are available free from the Visual Solutions web site: www.vissim.com.
About Visual Solutions
Since 1989, Visual Solutions (VSI) has been a pioneer in the development of
Windows-based software for the modeling and simulation of dynamic systems.
Their mission is to provide easy-to-use, powerful and affordable modeling,
simulation and embedded system design software.
VisSim is the winner of Electronic Design News Magazine's Hot 100 New Technologies. VisSim software is much easier to use and offers faster simulation speeds than competitive products. Additionally, VisSim includes the unique VisSim Viewer™, a run-time, view-only version of VisSim that enables users to distribute models at no charge.
